Download FileZilla And then Set Up This Important FTP Program

Instructions:

The first thing you need to do is download FileZilla (remember it is FREE) and once you are done downloading this ftp program you need to install it so you can set it up correctly.

After you are done installing it, you need to run it.

Once you run it, this is what you are going to see.

Adding a site
Click on "File" and then on "Site Manager"

Click on "New Site"

Under "MY Sites" give it a name – preferably your domain name so you can remember it.

In the box next to where it says "Host", enter ftp.yourdomainname.com and replace yourdomainname with your domain name; whatever it is. For example, ftp-few-home-business-ideas.com which is the domain name of this website.

In the box where it says "Port", enter the number 21

Under server type select the option "FTP – File Transfer Protocol"
Under Logon type select "Anonymous", "Normal", or "Account". This depends on which server you are using. I am using "Normal" for HostGator.

Then enter your HostGator user name and password. Make sure you recheck everything and then click on "Connect"

If you did everything correctly, you will see this screen.

Meaning of the different screens:
The top screen tells you whether you connected successfully to the server or not.

Below the top screen follows 4 small screens. The top left is your computer. It shows all the folders and files. Whatever you click on will show on the left bottom screen This means that whatever is on the left bottom screen, you can upload to the server.

In order to upload something, it has to be on the left bottom screen. If you want to upload all the contents inside a folder all you have to to is point to the folder on that screen, right click on the mouse, and then click on "Upload". You can do the same when uploading on single files.

The right top screen is the server. The top folder is where all the necessary files that are going to run your website are located at. Warning - Do not delete or attempt to change anything inside those files unless you know what you are doing.

If you click on the top folder a bunch of sub folders and files will show up. The folder of interest to you is the "Public_html" folder because that's where you are going to do all your work.

When you upload your files from your first website, you need to make sure you upload them inside that folder.

When you click on any of the folders on the top right box, everything inside that folder will show on the bottom right column - that means you are inside that folder.

So, if you want to upload you files from SiteBuilderElite for your first website all you need to do is go to the folder that contains those files. Inside, you will see the "Files", "Images", "Ioncube", and "Pages" folders. Right click on the "Files" folder and then click on "Upload". You will see the files being uploaded and it will take a few moments depending on the speed of your computer. Do the same for the "Images" and "Pages" folders". But before you do this, you need to make sure, you are in the "Public_html" folder located in the server.

The bottom screen shows you all the files being uploaded.

Once you do all the above, you are all set.

In order to see your website, just type it in the internet browser and then click "enter". If everything was done correctly, you will be able to see your website. If not, you will get some type of error message. If you get this error, you need to go back and check everything until you are able to see your website.
